Gen Z: Why so many layoffs after hiring?

In the digital age where online interactions dominate our daily lives, I came across the article below discussing the relationship Generation Z youth have with the working world.

Many employers are reportedly disappointed and firing their young recruits born after 1997.

👉 The reasons?

Communication difficulties with clients and colleagues, lack of commitment, sensitivity, and high expectations for quality of work life.

👉 Are they all like this?

Absolutely not! We all work with these young people and there are as many good ones as less good ones
 Just like all employees, really!

👉 What could have caused this behavior in some of our young hires?

Maybe schools, which sometimes sell dreams and promises disconnected from reality
Or perhaps the overly ‘digital’ social interactions due to screens and networks, which do not help them feel comfortable in public.

👉 So, what to do?

I don’t know, it’s not my profession 😅 We will probably have to adapt our integration, training, coaching, and mentoring methods to this category of employees, who already represent a quarter of the workforce!
